The Battlefield 1 soundtrack was composed by Johan Söderqvist and Patrik Andrén in partnership with DICE.

“We are truly happy about releasing a version of the soundtrack on vinyl,” say Söderqvist and Andrén. “It’s the coolest format by far and we hope it will become something of a collector’s item for the dedicated.”

The two composers started out with a strong vision to make a dark and emotional score; to convey the emotional hell and devastation of the war rather than making ”cool” music.

“The war was brutal and we wanted people to feel something and still keep the energy up. Of course we also wanted to pay tribute to the long Battlefield tradition where we use the classic theme in many variations and shapes.”

Damn - kinda pricey here in Canadaland. $70 for a sound track is a bit mutch, even if it is as good as the Battlefield 1 OST.

I really do want to get into vinyl. I used to listen to records when I was younger and loved it. Now it’s really expensive, though, since it’s all trendy. :unamused:

Do you think that is what is driving the price of vinyl through the roof? It’s just a market for hipsters now?

Is there such a thing as an “entry” level turntable anymore? Everything I see is kinda heated towards audiophiles.

Absolutely. I’m sure it’s partly due to cost of production as well but I do think the market itself drives the cost up a lot.

I’ve seen some cheap turntables at Barnes and Noble at around $70.00 and up. For me it’s the records themselves that are going to cut into your wallet.

Makes me wonder. If you are buying vinyl for the audio quality should you cheap out on a $70 turntable…

Here are a couple more pics of what the record itself actually looks like.

And here it is on youtube - someone actually listening to it.
